2023 Shiraz

$32.00

Tasting Notes: Rich yet refined, opens with dark fruit aromas of blackberry and plum, layered with notes of savoury earth, cracked pepper, and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is bold and expressive, balancing ripe fruit intensity with an elegant structure and subtle spice. A true reflection of McLaren Vale’s depth and character.

Winemaking: Basket pressed and matured for 21 months in a combination of seasoned French and American oak, this Shiraz delivers a wine of exceptional structure and complexity.

Vineyard: Planted in 1999 by our grandparents. Situated over the Blanche Point Formation, an ancient limestone deposit from the Maslin Beach area, this vineyard's rich, dense soil is tough on the vines, forcing them to work hard for nutrients and moisture. As the soil dries, large cracks expose the underlying limestone rock, giving the wine its characteristic depth and minerality.

Food Pairing: Slow roasted lamb shoulder, beef dishes, mediterranean dishes

Reviews: “This is a silky smooth shiraz with plum and vanilla-cream as the main drivers of flavour. It’s liberal in its delivery of both fruit and oak, which not only give the wine a richness but also makes for a smooth drinking experience. It tastes of roasted plums, toast, dark chocolate and mint, and while it’s bold it still manages to feel fresh through the finish. 90 points.” - Campbell Mattinson (campbellmattinson.com)
